SNAPSHOTS / VIDEO REVIEW – Written by Scott
I just watched for the first time the DVD that came with kzlivetune’s CD album Redial which I bought over two months ago. I played them on my PC which is the only way I could see them since the DVD is set for Region 2 (Japan) and cannot be played on a conventional North American DVD player. Fortunately, my PC has a 27″ HD flat screen so it’s equipped to handle this.
There were four videos in there – HD versions of Weekender Girl, Fly Out, Tell Your World and Last Night, Good Night. All four were amazing. Quite frankly, I was blown away by the beauty of the visuals and the quality of the sound. You don’t realize how much you are missing when you watch a video on YouTube until you get a chance to see the real thing straight from a disc. The same goes for concert videos. The grainy images and poor sound on YT are a poor substitute for the full performance on a bluray disc.
I should stress that the music CD “Redial” is worth the price of the album all by itself. I should know, since I have it in my car and I’ve played it, oh, maybe 200 times. It’s rare to find a CD that is comprised of 90% well-known Vocaloid hits. Truly, the DVD is just an extra but one that is well appreciated.
